Brunswicks Trista Moldovans next starring role may involve walk down the aisle:Whit & Whimsey Image It's pretty great when Brunswick graduates make the media and, of course, with Trista Moldovan playing the role of Christine in "Phantom of the Opera," that's a natural. You can go to broadway.com and look for the article, "trista-moldovan-on-finding-love-on-stage-and-off-in-the-phantom-of-the-opera." There's a great interview with Trista and also says she's planning a Sept. 2012 wedding!

BIG TIME: Students at Danceexcel Studio were paid a visit by New York talent scout Peter Sklar, who spoke to several of the dancers and parents about how to get hired in the entertainment business. Sklar is no stranger to success: his list of prot g s includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon and Mischa Barton, among others.

"We were absolutely thrilled to have Peter speak to our students," said Gina Koch, Dancexcel director. Not only did he speak, he did personal interviews with each student and 13 of the studio's students were offered invitations to his intensive workshops in New York and London. That's amazing because just 30 students from around the U.S. and Canada are selected to attend.

Congratulations to Brunswick and Strongsville students Cameron Barczyk, Allie Bauer, Mary Grace Bauer, Alissa Butler, Julianne Holt, Bianca Demonte, Haley Dye, Trevor Mancuso, Mikala Malkus, Amy Procyk, Rachel Gaylord, Megan Fletcher, and Olivia Wagoner.

THEY'RE THE BEST: Brunswick physicians Genevive Falconi, Mark Meacham and Robert Cain were named by Akron Life Magazine as three of its "Best Doctors in Greater Akron." Dr. Falconi is chief of pediatrics; Drs. Cain and Meacham are family practioners — all at the Brunswick branch of the Cleveland Clinic. Great news!

SAD NEWS: Stephana Huffman, who was executive secretary to the assistant superintendent of Brunswick Schools for more than 25 years, died Nov. 23 in Middlefield, Ohio. Steffie retired in 1985 and lived in Hinckley for many years. Our condolences to her children, all Brunswick graduates, Doug Huffman, Dean Huffman, Dale Huffman, Linda Rohrbaugh and Sandra McDermott. She also had 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was 85.

Thanks to Goldie Mack for sharing the news with us.

HOW OLD? I received a message from Dan Fern who seemed surprised I remembered he will celebrate a birthday this year. Why would I remember? Because I did a story about the 2002 BHS graduate many years ago when he was 4 and celebrating his first birthday because he is a leap year kid. Dan told me he is a paramedic now and has been married for three years. So I guess he will be, technically, about 7 years old?
